Southern Cross Models began in 2008 to provide custom hull construction for businesses such as Defence Models and Graphics and for amateur model makers alike. But the story and experience goes back 27 years to the beginnings of an amateur's own models. Tim began building plastic kit models as a teenager, these models grew in size and complexity until wanting new challenges, he began building RC model warships. During 18 years as a Detail Joiner and Shopfitter, Tim found he had a flair for hull master construction and detail. This flair, discovered by Allan Pew of APS Models, has been mentored and refined to produce world class scale model ship hulls. With his wife Sally (bookkeeper and patience extraordinaire), this husband and wife team aim to provide tidy, accurate to scale, strong yet light, well detailed, fibreglass model ship hulls.
